You can use this wall to introduce yourself and tell your story! Remember, this group is only for those who have stopped smoking completely (no matter for how long). We can use the advice of experienced EX's, too. I am on my 4th day (again), using this site much more and reading reading reading!

I am on day 3.;  Did not get a moments sleep last night!  After 50 yrs of smoking I know that I cannot physically go on. Just getting over a cold ( I rarely get sick ) and have a terrible cough and was having breathing issues.  Already, just 3 days and my breathing is better.  But, will I ever sleep again???  Tried Chantix 3 X so this time it's Cold turkey!

Suggestions.................please..........................

I am at the end of day 6. I smoked 50+ years. During those years my longest quit was 400 and some days. I feel differently this time. I'm gonna make it!  I have had very good health and by quitting I hope to continue to do so. I am tired of my house smelling like cigarette smoke. I don't smoke anywhere else, only in my kitchen. I never smoke in the car or at work and everywhere I go is smoke free. I'm done this time.

Hello,

I am 3 days smoke free and I am doing pretty good. I quit on June 2, 2016. I am also taking Chantix which does indeed help me with the cravings. I do still get an urge to light up but I don't. I feel better, but I am eating more. So I will continue to hang in there and take it one day, one hour, one minute at a time.

This is day 1 for me i was smoking 2 packs a day, Ive had maybe 6 cigerettes today, trying to keep busy, but I smoked for 42 years and it became 2nd nature, but I hate the thought of continuing this destuctive addiction. Its difficult because most of my friends and husband are smokers. Its especially difficult in the mornings when i have coffee so Im only having 1 cup instead of my usual 4. After meals is another challenge, and when friends stop by to chat because we always lit up together. It would help if I had something to do to overcome the hand to mouth habit while I have visitors or watchin tv. My quit date is June 19th the same day Im getting rebaptized after rededicating my life to Christ.

Day 1 still smoking but much much less at times Ive smoke up to 2-2and a half packs. Ive had maybe 7 cigarettes today. Mornings are the worst so cutting down on the coffee helps, also after meals is a challenge. Looking for something to overcome the hand to mouth habit. My husband is still a smoker that says he doesnt want to quit and many of my friends do too, so not of lot of support actually none! They still offer me cigarettes and 1 friend said oh you're not going to quit! I've been a smoker since I was 15 now Im 57 have diabetes and high blood pressure and rededicated my life to Christ and want to be healthy and enjoy a new life style. My quit day is June 19th the day Im going to be rebaptized.  So I must do this!

Day 1, cold turkey,  no plan made before this.   Kinda sounds like in setting myself up for failure. Had 6 years workout smoking 1 cigarette,  but been smoking a pack a day the last year and a half? I'm 40 n started at 16.   Very rough morning but I am determined.   Just remembered the last time I quit I used a website as a resource.  Could really use the support of exes
