WE HAD A FANTASTIC TIME!!! I must say that i was very apprehensive about going at first. I had a fear of water and was worried that i would get seasick. I took some bonine the whole time and didn't have any issues. I, also, conquered the fear of water too. It's really calming to watch. I am glad to experience this with all my friends, the ones who helped me through my quit. This of course was my first cruise and i will definitely say that it won't be my last.

I got to meet Smorgy (sharon) for the first time. She has been through so much and it was such a pleasure to finally be able to hug her. The bonds that you create with these people is phenomenal. We share a common bond and that is that we all quit smoking and we love to tell others about it as well. There was quite a few occasions that we shared to others on the ship about our group.

On our second night there (Friday), Tommy made arrangements for a steak dinner for us in a fantastic restaurant there. Laura shared with us some gifts. Karen, Madyzsgocka  friend made us our names using a coat hanger! how cool is that?Mandolinrain ,  made us these beautiful keychains with a cross and our Ex 6 May 2018 engraved on a silver cutlery piece end and some glycerin soap with essential oils. Smells so good. We love you Missy, Thanks for thinking about us with your wonderful talent.

We got to spend alot of time together, enjoying each others company. There is a trip coming up in October if you missed this one in San Diego/oceanside that Skygirl is arranging and the next one after that will be around this time next year. Start saving. A little bit adds up. You really don't want to miss this opportunity to connect with the ones that stood by your side through this quit and believed in you when you didn't believe in yourself.

So glad you are all back, you really were missed.  Missy's creations are beautiful...just like SHE is.  I am thrilled to hear that you did not get sea sick...that is my biggest fear of cruising.

Love,

Ellen

I loved coming down the escalator at the airport and seeing Shawn and Laura waiting for me.      Then on the trip back we all had time together.        Cruise was a blast.    Food fantastic, fun drinks, lots of laughs sitting by the pool.   Got sunburned.....should have listened to my roomie Laura and put on sunscreen!     But my cancer dr didn't notice it and yell at me.        Now back to real life.......Shawn is right, start saving now for next trip.      Memories are in the making with those who have stood next to us in the journey of QUIT!

About the Author
I am 51 yrs old and live in the Greater Cleveland area. I started smoking at a young age. I think it was more peer pressure at that time and just a few cigarettes a day until i became "LEGAL" to smoke. I then started smoking a pack or more a day, using stress as my excuse to smoke more. In reality, I realized after i quit smoking that there is no excuses for smoking. I am approaching 4 yrs next month, but I still have to work to protect my quit. I am here on Ex faithfully helping others and in return helps me. We call it here on Ex "Collateral Kindness" here is a link to my blog, 1 yr later that explained my trials in the the beginning of my quit. https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/blogs/ShawnP-blog/2013/03/14/one-year-later
