Ode to a Cigarette 6/17/08

Oh just one - and you've begun
Well maybe two - and you're so blue
'Cause now there's three - no longer free
After four you're out the door
For number 5 to keep alive
Number 6, you need a fix
On to seven - no longer heaven
For number 8 is not so great
But you keep smoking number 9
Because you crave this false lifeline
Half a pack - you can't stop now
Nicotine will not allow
It's got you hooked, you're now a slave
Welcome to an early grave.

You almost read my mind I was hoping to see some of your poetic genius .... (this must be an off day) .....lol

But its a start..... a flicker .... maybe we will find someone here with some talent.... not me but here are my first 8 lines...

Losers Vent .... Winners Rule

Smokers and Boozers
Its All Just A Game...
There's Winners and Losers
And All Excuses Are Lame

It Can All Come Down To A Simple Attitude
When You Believe In Yourself You Will Not Lose
But "LOSERS" There Is No Need To Be Crass Or Rude
Winning Is A Choice And Its What I Choose

Wanna say yes
Yearn to grow
But there's too much stress

Wanna breathe free
But am scared to try
Wanna smoke free me
And that's no lie

So I'll give it a go
And put up a fight
Become a craveless pro
Other's I'll invite

To walk the path - oh yes
'Cause I know they can
Ya know there's great success
With a thought out plan

Blizzard

We're off to see the blizzard, the horrible Blizzard inane
of all the silly, stupid thoughts that I can fit in my brain.
Of how I could and why I should
But I can't - YOU CAN -
It's just insane
And do no say "where there's no pain, no gain" -
I'd rather be hit in the head with a train!

We're off to feel the Blizzard
the miserable Blizzard, the Crave
I want, I need, I am not freed and so I rant and rave
Alack, Alas this too shall pass
I must be brave - think what I'll save
Deny temptation go and live in a cave....
Or else you'll visit an early grave!
