We have had a number of discussions on tough love,calling it as we see it, speaking plainly, no coddling on this site. Sometimes the discussions become quite heated with both sides stating their case.
Thought about this yesterday when..............................................................................................................
I was at a funeral. Now, I don't know if these things are the same everywhere, but here where I live, while many visitors are inside the funeral home sitting with the grieving relatives or sharing stories about the deceased, many visitors----who smoke----are outside...................smoking. They run in and out throughout the whole viewing period to get their nicotine fix. I used to be one of these people.
Yesterday, one of the owner/directors of the funeral home went outside and was handing out business cards to the smokers outside. Many accepted them without even looking at them........but then someone looked and they all began to whisper and talk among themselves..........the card said.............................
IF YOU CONTINUE SMOKING, WE HOPE YOU WILL KEEP US IN MIND
Then, the name of the funeral home, their address and telephone number was printed on the opposite side of the business card.
I think in advertising that's called "taking advantage of an existing market group."
