Hi. I guess my story is no different than anyone else's. I've tried many methods of quitting, but don't have the willpower. And to be honest with you, I've had better sucess quitting alcohol. Why is this so much harder? Somebody give me a hand with this please!

sorry I have not gotten back to you, but my journey is going so very well. Today is 2 weeks and 1 day. I venture out in to public places and I am no longer plaged with the urge. This blessing came from prayer and being able to endure.. God gets the glory for this..I am walking in his Will.. Kirk I had such a bad time trying to quit...I GOT SICK..I prayed this time and believing that i could be delivered from the Demon Nicotine..And I have been delivered,
Agape love to you
Brother Kirk
I pray for all things to be good for you

Kirk, This isn't easy. I'm in the middle of my 1st day. I know what it's like, Trying and failing in the past. Put the past behind you and focus on the now. You can do it!

Thanks for the encouragement, it's much needed! I'm at work and the day seems to be crawling by just to spite me! lol Not to mention that I work in customer service, so I have to be nice all day when I feel like screaming! :) It's harder than I thought, and I keep thinking of a million and one excuses to go smoke a cigarette, but I also keep talking to my dad who quit 3 years ago and hasn't relapsed at all. It definitely helps to talk to people who quit successfully.

Kirk,

I definitely understand what you're going through. It's my first day of quitting today, it's only just past noon and already I'm dying for a cigarette. I read somewhere that some scientists did a study on quitting smoking- they had a bunch of heroin, crack, coke and meth addicts try to quit smoking while detoxing from those drugs at the same time. 90% of the participants said it was much harder to quit smoking cigarettes than any of those really powerful drugs!! I was totally shocked when I heard that; so basically they're saying cigarettes are more powerful and addictive than meth, coke, crack and heroin?!!? That's pretty bad! That's also why I want to quit; the longer you smoke, the harder it is to stop. Anyways, hang in there, you can do this! I don't know about you, but I'm tired of letting cigarettes rule my life; why are we paying $5.50 a pack to kill ourselves?! It's ridiculous...
