Way to go! Just try to remind yourself that each cigarette you dont smoke could be another day added onto your life. I'm around the same age as you and it would be a shame to be digging our graves ... Read More »

Day 2 of no smoking. In tears.

I made it through day one very easily I'd say. I wanted one but not bc my body was craving it. I was just bored and that's what I do when I'm bored. I've been keeping bottled water with me and start sipping on it when I'm wanting to smoke. Or I go throw a load in the laundry or put some dishes in the dishwasher.

Today (day 2) is a different story. My body is screaming at me to smoke and I'm in tears bc I want one so bad. I hate this horrible feeling and I'm about on the

Sigh.

It's 8:03pm on Monday and I just had what I pray to God was my last one. Tomorrow I already know is going to be rough. I'm bored all day long and stressed out with Kaylee and this deployment. Everytime that I realize I'm bored, I go smoke. Then I eat and of course then I have to smoke for "dessert". Then I get a phone call and immediatly step out to smoke while I'm talking. Then I remember that my husband is in Iraq and then there I am, walking back into the kitchen, with my eyes lighting up…

Remember this your mind is your master. Control that and teh cravings are less. Today is day 5 and yesterday was real rough. I find that I cannot be in my usual places or talk with people that are smoking. I eat shelled peanuts. It keeps my hands busy and you really can't eat too many of them. I also went for the cold laser traetment - which seemed to work because I could not quit for 3 hours without it. BE STRONG. LIVE STRONG.

Are you still smoke free? I hope so. I've been smoke free for almost two days too. it's been hard but I've been following the become and ex plan. The weekend weather is nice and I want to have beers with all of friends but I've been trying not to drink because that is a trigger. Oh well. I hope that your husband returns safe. My cousin is in the service and just got back and he is signing up to become an ex too.

And when you are bored...do 5 jumping jacks....and when you talk on the phone...stay in the house....and say you are a NON smoker. IT IS your choice.....THAT IS POWERFUL to be a non smoker.....you go girl.

Hi Ashleigh, You can definitely do it- I know it seems so daunting to think of no cigarettes but its so worth it. I have been smoke free for almost one month and the thoughts are so few and far between they dont really bother me anymore. I am taking Chantix which really helps me a lot. I have tried so many times before and never succeeded- this time will be different- its actual feels different. Good luck to you!!!
