*one more time folks*

yeah. i guess all that raving really did me in. eeeeerrrrrrrrrr! on my birthday of all days! two cigarettes...my quit down the tubes! so back to the drawing board. i am not gonna beat myself up too much...I just get to go through all the cravings AGAIN...go through all the anger, throat hurting, coughing up god knows what AGAIN! It's okay. I guess. The important part is to keep trying right? One of these has to stick. I really really REALLY hate smoking. So why do I continue to abuse myself this way? Maybe that is what I need to take a look at.

Kristy.....you need to stop trying and start doing.

To smoke so early in your quit means that you weren't ready. You didn't plan what to do when craves, triggers, or temptations come your way. You need to commit and decide that this is it. Work the EX plan. I ate mints the first few weeks and avoided the situations that could break my quit. You need to protect this quit. You can be brave and strong around smoke later...for now just do whatever it takes to quit. I used the patch and it really helped. If you were quitting without meds before perhaps you need to consider using them. Cold turkey works for some but I think the best way to quit is whatever way you quit for good.

You can do this Kristy! Just do it! It will be hard and no fun but you will be free of the addiction. Quit one day at a time!

I know what you mean Kristy. I went from 10am Fri till Mon at 6pm without smoking - went thru all the crap - then I smoked. I can't believe I did it either. So now I'm at 20 hrs and 44 mins, starting over again. I can't figure out why I did it. And I don't hate smoking, the problem with me is I really love smoking, and am pissed off that I can't do something I love to do. I am quitting and am going to quit, I have COPD and got put in the hospital May 1st. That was when I was told to quit. So I am trying so hard. I was smoking 21/2 packs a day. I had it down to 3 - 6 a day till last weekend when I went that long without one - then I smoked. I have faith in us, we can do it!!!! Keep on trying, I'm rooting for you.

Throw them out (if you haven't already). You didn't "blow it"- you just took a step backward for a minute. Take a look at what you told yourself to make it "okay" to light up that first cigarette and suck it down. You must have told yourself a "whopper" of a lie!

Yup. That and, you need to make it a no option. Period. How many times can you keep having to go through the beginning withdrawals?
