About me

Woman in her early 40's looking to quit smoking after smoking for over 20 years.

My Reasons for Quitting:

The cigarette never will give me the rush or relaxation I so badly wanted.  That one time buzz over 20 years ago is gone and is never coming back.  Thirty seconds of a buzz for a twenty+ year addiction.  What a scam.

I do not like Stacie as a smoker.  She is a nervous nelly until her next cig.

I like Stacie as a non smoker.  Willing to let things go and punt some of the to do list down the line.

A happy side effect of quitting was I no longer bite my nails.  I wasn't even trying for that one and it just came.  Nothing to chew about cuz I no longer have that itch between cigs.

No longer willing to pay the cigarette companies to kill me.

Sick of being at dinner w/ friends and in honesty paying them no real mind and instead, looking at my watch thinking when can I get outta here and go have my after dinner smoke?  That is no way to live.

Tired of being a nervous wreck until I can get to my next cig.

Saddened that I believe I should not even try to kiss my husband of three years because I know my breath is putrid.

Tired of worrying about having enough cigarettes on me to get through the day and fumbling around for the always missing lighter.

Tired of being beholden to a habit that is killing me.

As they say in AA and I believe this applies to us too, it works if you work it!

LET GO AND LET GOD.    (Thank you Thomas for reminding me of this beautiful saying.)
