Big news is I finished the baby afghan at 1:30 in the morning the day of the shower. It created the stunned reaction from my daughter that I had hoped for. Two showers in 2 days and two trips on I-75 between Florida and Georgia and I'm still not smoking. I am used to fighting off the triggers at home and they have become a minor nuisance rather than making me edgy. Having my sister here produced triggers that I didn't expect cuz she isn't smoking now either. The road trip produced more triggers like hurry to dry my hair so I can smoke before I put on make up. Those triggers surprised me, but for once didn't make me angry. I had no urge when smokers left the room to go outside and no feelings that I wanted to join them. That was true when my smoking buddy of 30 years left the room twice. My only feeling was sorrow that she smoked during only 3 hours we had together and I wasn't strong enough to stand outside while she and others smoked and she couldn't give up a cig or two to spend time with me. Meanwhile, two computers (out of 2) at our house are on the fritz and I spent all day with the geek only to have it all go haywire when he left. Then it was an hour on the phone with him. The biggest stressor in the whole week was not being able to get on this site while I was traveling or when the computers weren't cooperating. Thanks to all of you who give the rest of us help to carry on!
