Yesterday was another trying day: countless hours of work, in the office and from home, and in between having to drive home.
Bad choice of timing: I should have waited another hour in the office for the traffic to lighten up, but I did not. As soon as I left the office the traffic was backed up 2-3 blocks, so we were moving with the speed of walking…of course the right time to watch through the windows.
Right by me, on the side walk, a lady pulls the pack of cigarettes out of her shorts and lights up, and walks with me…thanks goodness for the sunflower seeds I still have in my car. Taking all kind of shortcuts to avoid what looked like a bad accident, and another main street towards home, kept on the right lane, new street, I am watching businesses on my right…how many Tobacco stores can a city have??? Even a guy with a huge sign, advertising on the street…
And what do you think I was thinking about? Annoyed with the traffic (it took me 50min instead of normal 35 to get home), knowing I have to fix dinner then go back to work, I was not in a good mood. I changed lanes and even if I turned my head to insure I was in the clear, I really did not see a young man on a motorcycle. It would have been my right, but OMG I would not want to hurt anyone, my right of passing or not. He got upset, honked at me, I apologized and kept going.
By that time, my stress had reached new levels.
But I want to stay clear or smoking, not matter what!
Many minutes, and sunflower seeds later, I got home and went about my business and did not look back till now, when I wanted this recorded. For me, for other newbies.
You can do it, but you really have to want it!
