I had it in my sleep, but did not give into it, not even in my sleep. But I did consider it, and strategizing about how to only have a couple of puffs, as to not wake up my almost dead receptors (or are they only asleep???). Thank goodness I woke up before having the opportunity to put my strategy in place.
My smokemare was I am sure, triggered by several things.
First of all, yesterday was a making up sleep day. At the end of 2 very intense weeks at work, and it would not surprise me next week will be pretty much the same, I took time yesterday to lay down, sleep during the day, and generally relax. What disturbed me a little, was the smell of smoke in my nose. It persisted the whole day, even though nobody smoked around me, the only time I was out was very early morning for a walk (I might have inhaled car exhaust), but that smoke smell stayed with me the whole day through my naps, little house work, even during the movie.
And I think the movie was the second trigger; I don’t even remember the name, but the main character, a music producer, smokes during the whole movie, and at some point, his wife, obviously a non-smoker, takes two puffs form his cigarette. And I remember thinking: “why can’t I be the same?”. But I am not, I do not smoke anymore, so this morning I got up, put my shoes on, and went for a 3.5 miles walk.
When I got home I checked craving in the dictionary: it can be many things, and it scared me reading about it, it sounds to be something one can’t control: longing, yearning, need, urge.
Here is an extract from an article, teaching us how to deal with it, which we already know, it is "riding" it:
“When you have a craving, recognize it for what it is. You might as well enjoy the rush, it's like a freebie you don't get to control. By being scared of the feeling, you induce more anxiety and shame that may lead you to act out. Instead, recognize your lack of control over the craving, let the experience happen, and go on with your life.

Have a happy smoke free Sunday everyone!!!
