WOW, I am impressed with this quit, not that it has been easy, you know better.  It has been challenging and difficult at times but I knew I could always come to EX.  I knew that someone here would have the magic words I needed to hear, someone would have been through something similar and could tell me how they made it.  This site saved my life and I don’t say that lightly.  I could not have done this alone.  I envied people who said this was their “forever quit” and I wondered how they “KNEW”.  I read stories written by EXers when I needed them most and some of the stories made me laugh until I cried, we all had a day one, and we all probably remember it pretty well.  We all remember getting through challenges we did not think we could EVER get through without smoking.  We built our quits one brick at a time, some with solid foundations, some with used bricks that needed a bit of reinforcing.  The most important thing is that we are on this journey together, we support each other, we are here for the good times and the bad times.  When I heard NOPE (not one puff ever), it helped me more than anything I had ever heard in previous quits.  There is not one person here now or who has been here who has not made a difference, you all have my deepest gratitude for showing me the way, for opening doors for me, for helping me to pick myself up when I didn’t think I had a chance to keep going…even one day at a time.

If I can do this, YOU can do this, I am no super hero, I am an aging woman with chronic pain and the same stresses as anyone else has whether they are financial or family related or just plain LIFE.  It beats the alternative.  I am so happy to be on this journey, I am so happy and grateful to have met so many amazing people.  Thank you for being here, thank you for supporting me and each other, thank you for making this site all that it is…it is YOU!

Much love,

Ellen
