Some of the long-time members have decorated their pages with resources that have helped them. In my first weeks here I spent a lot of time looking through members’ pages. As a non-smoker I’ve never gone through the process of quitting so I wanted to learn more about what the experience was like for many of our successful quitters. We have so many resources online, anything we want is within reach. As individuals, we’re activated and motivated in different ways to take action, so the way that each of us react to various resources are different. I particularly enjoy those videos you see where someone sketches on a whiteboard with a marker as someone narrates. I recently watched an educational video from Dr. Mike Evans that helped me to understand better what EXers are going through. No one resource will help me to understand so I know I’ll need a constant flow of information and I appreciate being able to continue to learn from all of you.
As new quitters join they probably wonder about a whole lot of things. I’ll group myself into this population! They’re looking for quick access to the established knowledge of the EXers. To help everyone with their journey, I hope to help aggregate as much of this tribal knowledge as possible. I know some of you have already started collating the community knowledge, and my goal is to add to the process you have already started. I hope you’ll join me.
How do you like learning about quitting? Reading Blogs? Watching Educational Videos? Here’s your chance to share your top 5 helpful online resources you used in your journey to help you understand and plan your quit. If you have more than five, link to your profile if you have your cheat sheet on your profile or create your own blog post with all your resources first and link there. If one of your top 5 is the same as someone else’s, don’t worry, that helps reaffirm what great resources they are. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
