988 Days!

Almost 1000 days since I have touched the dreaded cigarette! Holy cow! To sit and reflect on the total control that thing had on my life compared to today is unreal........I was a SLAVE! It literally consumed my thoughts and actions! Every single one of them. My life revolved around them. But those days are long gone! I am free!

The only time I think of a cigarette is when I see some pitiful soul that is still trapped by them. That and the occasional change of season brings about memories..no craving, just a memory of when I did during that season. Like, now that summer is coming up again, I'll have a f ew memories of doing things and smoking while I did them. Then I have the wave of gratefulness come across me and remind me that I no longer do that and it feels good!

Guys, no matter how hard it feels today, no matter how discouraged you get, no matter how many times you have tried to quit and failed, no matter what that brain of yours tells you.....you CAN DO THIS!! Quitting is so doable!! You can be a non-smoker! I smoked for 25+ years and quit so many times, my middle name should be "failure" but I kept on quitting til it stuck and you know what.....it finally STUCK! Sept will be 3 years! That's three years of breathing, three years of working out almost every day,  day after day of running 2128 steps with my daughter, thats three years of not smelling like an ash tray, thats three years of not buying febreeze for my car!! 3 YEARS OF hallalujah!!!

Keep on quitting!!
