I sure am glad I could not sleep last night and was up and alert or I would have been in my bed with glass and hail all over me. If I had been in bed not only would I have glass and hail all over me when I got out bed I would have been barefoot and stepped on broken glass on the carpet to get out of my room. The cats we have were crying and very upset it was that loud from the hail hitting our house. This morning we did get in a claim and it could take up to 2 years to get this settled because a lot of people got hit and they got it worse than we did. We did call someone that could help us and he went on top of the roof and said we have damage on the roof parts of the roof is caved in and the tree outside by my grandsons playset was smashed by one of our trees that had split off and fell. My window is broke and also we found out my sons window is messed up some. I can’t repair my blinds so I guess I will have to go pick out something new to cover my window now. This guy that came out we know him well and he has fixed major things wrong with this house so we trust him he has a team of people that works on everything and if he can’t fix something he knows someone that can. All the people on his team they all have licenses to do the work that they do and they guarantee their work. This guy that came out put some special stuff on my window for now until we can get my window fixed. We have to get estimates now on all that we need repaired and pictures of all the damage for the insurance guy. We also still need to get someone out to cut off a huge limp on that same tree that split because one large limb is hanging and about to fall off and could kill someone so that is also on the list of things to do. My car was under the car port thank goodness or it would have been damaged. Here is a link to the news out our way it shows how big some of the hail was out our way. I took a picture and sent it to Ellen this morning 4 hours after the hail came down and it was still really big in my hand. I will put a picture of one of the hail balls I found in the back yard on my avatar today and this picture was taken 4 hours after the hail fell and it had melted a lot before I got a pic of it and it was still really big in my hand.
@ Giulia that is a great idea about the adhesive tape and the flash light I am going to do that and see if it works better I bet it does work. The rug is drying pretty good I have two fans pointed at the floor and stood on towels and paper towels to absorb the water.
