Share your quitting journey
OK, so my quit date was supposed to be April 30, 2016, but I smoked my last cigarette yesterday (4/27/16)morning and I didn't want to buy another pack of cigarettes because I knew I wouldn't smoke the entire pack by 4/30/16 and I didn't want to waste them when they are so expensive and quite frankly I just didn't want to buy anymore. I had a few struggles last night but I just kept busy and kept my mind off of them. This morning was easy for me which was surprising since I always smoke one when I get up with my coffee and then smoke another one before I leave to go to work. But I didn't really have the urge to this morning and just got ready for work and left without giving it a 2nd thought. I stopped smoking in my car back in August after we bought a new car, as I didn't want my new car to smell like smoke. So that is another habit that I broke myself of last August. I also only smokeed outside or in our garage and I did not smoke in my house, so that makes it a little easier also.
I'm starting to feel very confident about quitting and I really think it's going to work this time and that I am going to stick to it.
I've been wanting to take up running and sign up to run in some 5k races, but I need to get myself in shape a little more before I can sign up for any 5k's. Smoking cigarettes for all those years have made it hard to breath when I run or walk up hills. Hopefully I will be able to start training soon and feel better when I run.
