Ever have the thought...

Ever have the thought did I buy a pack of cigarettes and smoke one?

And know that you didn't but continue to want to check your pockets and the car dash and the counter tops just to make sure that you didn't?

But knowing that you didn't and continue to want to keep searching?

That doesn't make sense.  That doesn't help my emotions.  That doesn't help me reach my goals of putting my hands on the plough of life and looking ahead.

Why would I want to dwell on want I didn't do and didn't want to do in order to prevent myself from smoking?  That doesn't make any sense.  CHANGE THE CHANNEL!!!

I'm grateful I got the dishes and a little vaccumming done before work today and that we both have the morning off 2m and can get some Chinese.  I'm grateful that as I'm writing this I'm listening to my new to me vinyl copy of Stevie Wonder's Talking Book.  I'm grateful that my car has brakes (if not a functioning connection for my brake light switch).  I'm grateful that when overwhelmed and/or unfocused I can in the moment recommit myself to immediately trusting God with every aspect of my life.

I'm grateful for day 386 smoke free.  Eric
