Happy Thanksgiving all -- I hope you've had a wonderful day.  I've been very grateful for many things -- My wonderful sister, my daughters and their families and my many wonderful friends, both personal and virtual.  I'm thankful that  I haven't smoked for 330 days.  I am also thankful that I GOT THE JOB I WANTED FOR WHICH i INTERVIEWED ON MONDAY!!  It was amazing -- I interviewed at noon on Tuesday and by 2 p.m. on Tuesday they were making me an offer.  All benefits will start on day one, full medical, vision, dental and a 401k to which they will contribute 4% if I contribute 5%, and I can roll over my existing 401k to theirs.  And they're paying me $5000 a year more than I was making.  It's a longer commute, but that's a small price to pay for a job that will be fulfilling and in which, I hope, my work will be valued.

Ironically, I had my unemployment adjudicated the same day, and I should have the back funds for that benefit in my checking account early next week.  I think the first payment will cover 4 weeks.  I'm entitled to collect it through the end of the week before I start, and if my background check comes through in time I'll start on December 7 (isn't that Pearl Harbor day?).

So I offer my deepest thanks to so many of you who put up with my not-very-smoking-related blogs over these last two months, and helped me to sit in the midst of limbo without giving up.  Between my family and you all I had the perfect support system and it worked!   I now can joyfully report that my life has fallen back into focus, and while I don't expect a perfect job, I do look forward to the challenge and the opportunity to do what I believe is important work.

I hope you all had splended Thanksgivings, and if for some reason you didn't, know that there is so much love in this group that it can overcome one crappy holiday meal!

Sweet dreams, my friends.
