CT Scan results from doctor

My pulmonologist called today while I was at work, I called her back after I got home and she said she had the results from my CT Scan.  I told her I KNOW because they sent me a letter.  She said she consulted with a thoracic surgeon and they reviewed my scan.  My COPD is worse than she thought, I could have told her THAT.  The thoracic surgeon and her want me to have a VQ scan to determine if I am a candidate for Lung Volume Reduction Surgery which would get rid of a part of my lung that is trapping air, it could significantly improve my quality of life.  http://www.lung.org/lung-disease/copd/treating-copd/surgery.html?referrer=https://www.google.com/  The link about the surgery is there.  I just have to get the consult scheduled after the VQ Scan which will involve radioactive dye and then breathing into a tube to see how the air moves in my lungs (not well).  I am feeling somewhat encouraged that at least they are looking harder because they realize I am not just complaining for the sake of complaining. I AM short of breath, it is NOT getting better, and I am doing everything I know how to do.

I am exhausted tonight and have to work tomorrow so I am going to sign off until after work tomorrow, if I can even handle that.  My daughter’s last night here is tomorrow and I need to try really hard to remain conscious while she is here.

Love to all and thanks for all the support.  I have great hope that this is a GOOD thing.
