467 Days

WOW - 467 days!  In the beginning, one week seemed almost impossible.  But I made it one week and just kept adding the days.  In my case, "slips" were not allowed because I know myself too well.  I have been down this road before, and I am an addict who is one cigarette away from a total relapse.  It is not always easy, but I have made it this far by doing  it like every other successful quitter has done it -- by not smoking -- plain and simple.  I remember very well what a roller-coaster ride the first few week were for me.  But after I got off that ride, I realized that I never have to go thru that again.  I have made it thru to the  other side - and you can too - if you just give it the time that it takes to get there.

I am a 63 year old single woman. I quit smoking at 55 and my only regret is that I did not quit sooner. Freedom from cigarettes is truly a wonderful feeling!
