That’s over 2 MILLION, 1 HUNDRED times when someone out there said, “No!”
“I’m not going to slip backwards…again.”
“I’m not going to forget why I am here, or what I have learned.”
“I’m not going to sabotage my recovery, or my dignity.”
“I won’t accept poisoning myself.”
“I won’t accept that addiction solves anything.”
“I won’t accept that this is how I am condemned to live.”
“I deserve to choose better!”
“I deserve to keep going!”
“I deserve to know what awaits me past Day____.”
“I’m going to honor my word.”
“I’m going to respect my quit.”
“I’m going to keep my promise to myself, and to my support group.”
“Not one more excuse!”
“Not one more day, lost!”
“Not one puff…ever!”
One choice at a time, 20 times a day, one day at a time, for the first day and the next day, and the next week and month after that, one after the other, until we have burned up the Lies and Excuses with the blinding light of Truth and Healing, and have proclaimed our message - loud and clear! - 2,137,821 times: ”I DON'T DO THAT ANYMORE!”
