What's Up With My Tongue

I really can't stand the feeling of my tongue when I quit smoking. It is the strangest sensation, like a tingling paste. If I place something in my mouth, like a whole clove or a lifesaver, this sensation is relieved. I resist my own knowledge though. Sometimes, I don't want to do what I know will help because I want to give in to the withdrawal. It's so illogical. I know what I can do, but I also know that if I do the thing that lessens the craving, I won't smoke and my stinking thinking tries to outwit the part of me that knows what I need to do. Hopefully, writing about my crazy quitting brain will help lighten the load.
