Week-end

My beautiful niece got married Saturday night in a town about 2 1/2 hours away.  We drove up Saturday afternoon.  The group included me, my sister, my niece and her two sons ages 14 months and 8.  We decided to stay the night rather than drive back late.  I am really old and set in my ways - lol  We really had a nice time but I am so used to doing what I want, when I want, and getting somewhere on time.  And the others in this group are consistently late - and it really gets on my nerves.  And when something or someone gets on my nerves, my thoughts immediately go to smoking a cigarette.  A year ago it would have been a really tough week-end to get thru but not now.  I was able to dismiss those brief thoughts very quickly.  So to those of you just beginning or re-starting your journey, hang in there!  It will get better.

PS -  I also didn't have to worry about sneaking out to find a place to smoke - another bonus!

I am a 63 year old single woman. I quit smoking at 55 and my only regret is that I did not quit sooner. Freedom from cigarettes is truly a wonderful feeling!
