I've started a video-to-dvd service (which is what keeps me so busy and why I'm not here as much). I was just converting someone's home movies from what looks like the early-mid 50's. In one part it's a birthday party for a little girl. There's at least 12 small children and 4 or 5 women in a living room all gathered. Every woman was smoking. Those children didn't have much of a chance of escaping nicotine addiction -in fact, I bet they were already addicted since they had been exposed to it since being in the womb. We were intentionally trained to be addicted to nicotine by the big tobacco companies so they could all get rich.
That does not mean we can continue to blame that past on our actions today. We have the power to break the cycle and free ourselves. So many of us have done it. If you haven't yet - what are you waiting for? Once it's over it's the most wonderful freedom you ever felt!
