Seening that i am an Englishman living in Africa, i thought i would give you an African story. I was at a small game reserve the other day and was feeding the fish in the lake pieces of bread i had, the fish were huge. Along came a game ranger and told me not to do that, i asked him why, it wont kill them will it? he replied that no it wont but they are supossed to feed naturally with the food provided by the lake. Makes sense. He then told me a story about the the troop of baboons. The troop is run by one master or King baboon, if he needs food the helpers in the troop will provide it for him, if he needs to sleep the helpers will gaurd him. What ever he needs is provided by the troop, he is the supreme ruler. If we as Human beings encounter the King and his troop, we are to treat him with respect but should not back down to him. Now here is the important part, we should never feed him, because if we do, we join the ranks of his helpers within the troop and then report to him. We are no longer an outsider but are now encountable to him, if we do not follow his rules, we may be attacked as we have offered ourselves to him by providing food, we are now inferior to him.

If we compare a cigarette to the King baboon, its the same, do not back down to a cigarette because once we feed our lungs and brains nicotine, it also becomes our leader and we are enslaved by it, because we have offered ourselves to it.
