Share your quitting journey
Hi there EXFamily , I hope everyone is well and in good spirits !
It is very late here in London, however we just came back from a very lovely evening-night out and before I turn in for a bit of sleep I wanted to share my cebration with you guys.
360 days, woohoo, looking back at day one , this day seemed so far away but here it is and I'm very happy (-:
So to the very new members , please don't be discouraged , the 360 will be there for you sooner than you think, just keep moving forward with determination to get there , stay focused on your goal and please never ever give up.
My two younger siblings are coming to visit next week , precisely the time when I will enter the 6% club and will be joining a lot of other lovely EX-ers there !
Of course I'm very happy to see them and looking forward to spend some time with them!
However, my brother smokes, and yes he did promise he will smoke outside but I will still be able to smell it on him as now I truly do smell it on everybody with a vengeance !
Saying all this , I thought of something Dale said to us a long time ago and it was about confronting different situations and dealing with them the same way as we dealt with the previous ones , meaning that each day or week or month or year we will be faced with something that will remind us of our addiction , be it a memory or a circumstance or a situation, but we must stop and put in place our methods and ways we learned and applied so many times to overcome those , nothing more and nothing less!
One other thing that I remembered from what Dale has taught me is to never overthink the circumstance or the situation , meaning not to make it bigger or more complex than it actually is!
So with the knowledge in place and the confidence I have , I am sure that I will be fine and that I will deal with this as I've dealt with other issues arising this past year, and that is by believing in myself no matter what.
I hope you all have a great weekend and do remember not to drink a lot as it's a known fact that people do tend to relapse after drinking a lot of alcohol! So be aware please.
Wishing you all the best x
