CONCISE

I like concise. My Dad was (and remains) the most intelligent person I have ever known. His advice was always concise. There was no time for teenage eye rolling with my Dad. He didn’t give long lectures. He communicated his thoughts, feelings and values very.................... concisely.

“If you’re out after midnight, you’re up to no good” I’ve found he was actually quite correct on this.

“Money isn’t class”----usually this followed one of his favorites “ You can’t shine sh_ _!”

“Make sure you always know the difference between what you need and what you want.”

Well---I could go on forever. But the one my sister reminded me of today as we laughed and reminisced was this one…….

When we would whine to Dad that we could not quit smoking because our lives were so stressful he would say

“Ladies—stress is life. Stress ends when you die. Keep smoking and you’ll be stress free before you know it.”

Stay Strong.

I quit smoking in 2009 after years and years of addiction. I just became sick and tired of the whole smoking thing. This site was a lifesaver with the support I received...so as you can see, I hung around to help others. I became friends with many people....some are here now and some are gone. Welcome to anyone who is new....this is EX....we are all here for each other.
