Going into my third month, and trying something new.

Today I accepted an invite to meet some co-workers at a local pub for trivia night. I guess this is popular in some cities, I don't know much about it but I love trivia. I feel this is one sign that my life is changing, you see I typically try to avoid social gathering because I may not be able to smoke, or afraid of being judged by those who don't.. This is huge for me, I have missed out on many opportunities to have a social life like going to movie, dinners, and shopping with friends, all because it would interfere with my smoking habit.  While the desire to smoke still haunts me, It's has became easier to resist. I also found a way to distract my mind when the craving hits hard. I bought some essential oil, very strong strength of lavender. I rubbed some around my nose and mouth, not much, just enough for my brain to be focused on this strong scent and it last long enough for my craving to pass.  My need to constantly eat has also subsided, I gained 13 pounds but I am starting to see that normalize.Because staying smoke free is stressful engouh, I am not going to obsess about my wieght, I just focus on not gaining any more and when I have 6 months under my belt, I will work on my wieght.  All and all things are going well... I just keep telling myself, MAKE IT TO 4 MONTHS!
