Day 3

Truth right from the source: IT GETS EASIER!

With the help and support of my sister and her husband, I found this adventure to a tobacco free life a breeze - so far. I'm only the third day in but my cravings have been slim. Yesterday, day two, was probably the roughest so far. I craved chocolate. Exercising daily, I am not too worried about the chocolate/candy cravings. In fact, they are kind of welcome! At least it's better than smoking.

Today, I went out to dinner and my sister's husband insisted that he buy my dinner since I have been doing so well. I don't feel guilty about that - because in the back of my mind, a little bird was like "Oh, well what if you break?" - but I know I am not. If I can get past the first two initial days, I am pretty much at ease.

The first day was the day I dreaded the most. That first initial day. It was hell but it was not as bad as I was expecting. The second day I had to get acustom to a whole new life - what to do in my spare time? Boredom? All of that. But now I have a set schedule for myself!

I wake up, I drink a glass of water and make breakfast, I do a morning exercise, shower and get ready, go to work, come home and do a evening exercise, make dinner, relax (watch TV, play a game), sleep.

And it gets so much easier! I don't even think of smoking. I replace those thoughts with whatever I have to do at that moment.

Another thing i'd like to point out. I was afraid of doing was drinking as I pretty much smoked a lot while drinking. It doesn't affect me. Granted I only have drank like one or two beverages during these days but I don't crave them. THIS MIGHT CHANGE. If I drink more or even go to a bar (which I haven't yet since i quit). However, when I normally drink my sister is there. If we go to a bar or something and say, for example, we drink martinis or something - she might be there for support. That may happen. I am not too worried.

I haven't talked to my parents since I quit. I probably should. My dad would be most proud of me since my stepmom quit a couple of years cold turkey. She'd be proud too.

I should also talk to my mom too. She is a smoker and she is so upset that she can't quit (we've talked about quitting on several occassions). I should let her know that it is easy (at least in my case?).

Sorry, i'm just rambling now. So yeah, this was day 3. 🙂
