Going on a little trip for the weekend

We are leaving tomorrow for NYC (Brooklyn) to take our daughter to move in to her new apartment there. We rented a van so we could help her get everything there.  She wants to drop off what she has packed and then she wants to go to the IKEA store and buy a bed…yes, a bed.  I have been shopping and shopping and shopping with her to help her get prepared, did I ever mention that I HATE shopping? We have had a mostly good visit, as always, it is time for people to go to their own corners.  Once everyone is all grown up, it is best not to live together, at least that is my experience.  It’s bad enough that her brother lives in the apartment upstairs but he really does not come down here much and we don’t see more of him than we did when we lived in our house.

I will probably not take the laptop with me, we will be staying in a motel tomorrow night and doing the actual move on Sunday and then driving back.  It’s about seven hours one way.  I really hope we do not run into any weather.  I am bringing my snow boots and my warmest jacket…also lots of pillows and blanket so I will be comfortable in the van.

I will be thinking of all of you and hope that everyone has a good weekend, safe and smoke free. I am keeping everyone in my prayers.

Love, Ellen
