This is the beginning of a new day, and I have been given this day to choose what I will.
I can choose either freedom or failure, safety or sickness, recovery or relapse, help or harm.
What I choose today is extremely important, for I will exchange a day of my life for that choice.
The future is purchased with the present, so I shall choose to spend this day wisely.
When tomorrow comes, and this new day is gone, I shall not regret the price I paid for it.
STORM: 256
(The picture is mine; I snapped it one morning before kayaking out onto the Little Saluda River. The basis of this "morning affirmation" is not mine, though; I took an already popular prayer and adjusted it to suit myself. Maybe it speaks to you, too, now?)
