I'm going to be quick as in 12 minutes quick!
I've been wanting to quit for a long time and have been planning and planning. Recently several issues including a new additional $2 tax on a pack of cigarettes in my city (Philadelphia) pushed the issue! I've had people who care about me urging me to quit so I chose a date, lined up my resources and got going on this site. I chose to quit on a Monday because weekdays go by faster than weekends.
I'm a 48 year young female, unmarried and living on my own in the big city. Smoking is just not "cool" anymore and not something I want to be stuck with! I have several non-smoking related disabilities and smoking just isn't convenient anyway!
I train dogs for fun and money. I love hanging out with my friends of various species and laughing and having a good time. Lately I've noticed I'm the only one dependent on ashtrays! Yuck! I'd love to use the money I would be spending on cigarettes to do something really special for myself- maybe a trip somewhere or a nice piece of art.
I hope to meet lots of people here who can support me as I will them. I'll probably be begging for a cigarette by 8am but don't let me give in! In this case, quitting is such a good thing!
