newbie questions

Hey, what do y'all think about the smoking aid?  I'm trying to earn my badges, cause i like to do that kind of thing, reminds me of video games.  The sight states it doubles your chance of quitting, and i guess its the lesser of two evils, (no smoke but some nicotine).  Arent we trying to end our addiction to Nicotine?  Am i just prolonging the withdrawals by using an aid? Advice?   If you think the aid is a good idea whats your favorite, i hate the gum, IT BURNS!....Thanks!
