My Week!

Hello Folks -

We are opening a new property (apartment complex) and the manager that was hired a couple months ago resigned.  She was on her way out anyway.  I would have fired her a long time back if it was totally my decision.  I suspect drug use.  So I have had to put in extra time - not really a good time being the end of the month and also the end of the quarter.  I am a bookkeeper so this is a really busy time anyway, but having to help out at the new property is just added stress.   I worked close to 12 hours last Thursday and got caught in one hell of a thunderstorm going home.  It rained so hard that I could not see the road.  I just prayed that I would make it home and I did.  I hate driving in bad weather.

But the absolute highlite of my week - I received a letter - real mail -with lots of stickers-from Brenda M!  So much fun!  Brenda even has family very, very close to me in Arkansas!  It is a small world!

OK - BTW - what does this have to do with not smoking?  Well, 6 months ago, I would have been chain smoking with all this stress to deal with.  I normally smoked a pack a day.  But during really stressful times, I smoked more. But here on day 156, I can honesty say, that I was tempted 0 - zero - times to smoke this week.  I only had a very few  fleeting thoughts of smoking.

So this is just a message to everyone just beginning, it does get better!  Hang in there.

I am a 63 year old single woman. I quit smoking at 55 and my only regret is that I did not quit sooner. Freedom from cigarettes is truly a wonderful feeling!
