Smoking and anxiety

For me since I quit I have less anxiety - which before I quit I had all backwards - as I thought the cigs helped me chill out and calm down.  Ofcourse they did for the moment, but then the receptors in my head would trigger me to get more drug and smoke again.  So to be honest for me, I am now less anxious and in a solid way - to my core.  Not that I'm meditating all the time or such, infact I've developed a new relationship with my exercise and eating and since I can now taste the food - yes, a bit of weight came on.  Yet I have this new relationship with my physical self - I care about it - I can actually be more present in the body and have less stress - what a great deal!!!

Disassociation is present in those who have depression, and not to stick my neck out here, but I think smoking prolongs the depression.  I am not a scientist or professional in this area but I wanted to share my understanding as an EX and my happiness with being quit and accepting who I am and moving on with LIFE and BREATH!!

Thank you all for being there - onward and upward - life is good!
