Good Morning EX family!!!
Today is 700 days for our beloved friend Nancy AKA Skygirl. I asked her if she was going to post a blog today or should I do it…She doesn’t celebrate days anymore nor has she ever had a clock on her page. We all do this in the way best for us!
I told her we just will use any excuse for a party and there wasn’t a chance we wouldn’t celebrate another 100 days for her.
Truth is living here on earth is filled with sadness, cruelty and inhumanity…Any day we have something right in front of us to grab onto with joy is a reason to celebrate. Freedom from addiction is truly one of those things. Her 700 days means mine are right around the corner and I will get there. No I do not struggle at all anymore but I still get inspiration from knowing that.
I always keep a count of her days because when I first quit she had 44 days & she carried me through that beginning…She made me laugh so hard and that laughter kept my commitment strong. Our friendship made me a happy quitter. Our friendship is still a huge source of happy for me. We couldn’t be more different in real life and yet our bond forged from being on EX is irrefutable.
Also I believe in our embrace of a milestone we show others who ARE still struggling that there is an end to it. We are living testaments to a life where the thought of smoking doesn’t exist.
I honor you Nancy. Thank you for your friendship. Thank you for loving me for the crazy gal I am. Thank you for your brilliant blogs. Thank you for the laughter Nancy. I love you. xo
