I always wanted to invite my youth group over to my house but smoking kept me from doing so. They never knew I smoked. I am in awe with what just happened. God knows what He is doing. This is a short story that I want to share with someone so jump over my post if you care not to wait for the ending.
I was using the push mower and cookie was sleep on the front porch. I had been cutting grass for over 2 hrs. and my back was killing me but I wanted to finish the part I was on but didn't think I could. All of a sudden cookie jumps up barking non stop which she never does so I thought something was wrong. I checked on her and she was fine so I went to finish and she started back up. Some how she knew I needed to take a break because of the pain and she wasn't going to let me continue so I stop to rest and take a pain pill.
The pastor and his wife are personal friends of mine and they never knew I smoked. Anyways she babysits and he has a full time job at a hospital plus being a pastor. I was going to ask him Sunday that any time she doesn't have any kids to babysit that I would keep their son so they could get away and enjoy being alone.
Now if I was smoking the following could never have happened. When I came in for my break , the pastor called me and asked if I would keep their son this weekend as she had no kids and they wanted to go to the mountains Saturday. I was speechless and was having a hard time even talking. With God , anything is possible. He is telling me the rewards you receive for not smoking are endless.
Cookie having me come into the house at just the right time to receive the phone call and God preparing me ahead of time to have their son for the weekend. I have gotten an awesome reward for the whole weekend for choosing not to smoke. Praise His name.
