Hear Me ROAR!

This morning I was able to do some weeding in one of my gardens for the first time ! Had to use an “old lady” gardening bench – but as I recover, I am minding those accoutrements less and less. Let me tell you, those weeds were partying in my absence!!! I had some that stood over 6 feet tall!!

It is feeling so good to start to return to my usual active life. I am still using a cane outside – but no longer need it in the house. I feel as though the progress has been SO slow, but my daughter keeps reminding me of where I started when I got home 7 weeks ago.

Just like quitting smoking, it's a day at a time and a celebration of the progress we make. Do remember to reward yourself for a job well done! I see some retail therapy in my future (and perhaps some Talenti gelato!)

I smoked until a vascular surgeon informed me of the damage I had done to myself by doing so. I quit 11 years ago, and I can swim laps virtually FOREVER now, walk most other days 40 minutes to an hour and a half. What a difference quitting has made in my life! I strive to help others find this wonderful freedom from addiction, too.
