Good morning dear family

Day 13 and going strong thanks to my new found family.  Something I had to realize and may help some out. Stress is a big trigger and I kept waiting for the stress to let up or go away to stop smoking.  Life is stressful and it will always be there. It is how we handle it. I am a devoted Christian and love the serenity prayer and also footprints in the sand.  I had to realize smoking didn't help stress.  It was still there waiting for me.  Stress will always pop up as long as you are alive.  Turn your worries over to God and it will make a big difference.

I worked in the yard all day as I have an acre of land.  Ok now, ready to laugh. I have a john deere riding mower and my little chihuahua loves to sit in my lap and ride. One of my neighbors said he looked out his window and all he could see was a chihuahua's paws on the steering wheel driving the lawn mower. He said he had to go outside because he thought he was seeing things. After going outside, then he saw her sitting in my lap. That made me laugh.

When I was out Wed. I saw several people smoking and my first reaction was I bet that taste good. Then I went from reaction to feeling sorry for them. Wow what a roller coaster of emotions. One thing I am scared of. I am going to my best friends who lives out of town a week from Monday. She is a chain smoker and I am getting anxious. Can I be around her for several days with her smoking and not giving in. She wants to stop smoking also and I have been encouraging her and telling her about my new family.  She is just not ready and gets angry if anyone tells her what to do or continuously give advise.  I waited to go see her until I had some smoke free time under my belt. It will be 3 weeks and I just pray I can be a witness to her.

I am going to the gym this morning.  That seems to help me. Praying for all of my family members here and welcome to all of the newbees.

God bless

Carolyn
