Blogging about (Quitting) Smoking

Something occured to me today...

Blogging about quitting was a big help for me through the process. It was comforting to vent, and having the "RAH, RAH!!!" comments were so needed. I remember doing that thing where you basically make a fist, but can't curl your fingers up tight enough, every hour or so for several days.

One of the worst triggers for me was taking cigarette breaks when it got slow at work. Holy crap. That was tough to get through. I started really getting on this site during those intense cravings, and either reading or writing.

I was off last week. At the beginning of the week, I had LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOADS of down time. I didn't smoke one cigarette. Thing is, my cravings got reasonably manageable somehow. I didn't get a letter. No call or Edible Arrangement. I wasn't even aware that a change had happened.

When I was getting ready to lose my mind - one of the things I did was write a blog. It occured to me today that it had been quite a while since I had. I guess I haven't needed to. Upon realizing that - I really wanted to.

Friday at 9:00 PM, I'll have hit my 1 month. Haven't cheated, fallen, or failed. (Came reeeeeeeeeally close, lol...)

You guys have all been a really big part of that - Thanks.
