Why do I still want a cigarette?

Your brain is what controls YOU.

Your body is a truly amazing creation.

Since your brain is in control it constantly is checking. What does it check? Is you tempature right, do you have enough nutrients (hungry), your mental status (hormons, chemical balance ok?), are you coming down with some illness, and it has to make sure everything is balanced for you to be able to do what ever you have to do at that time.

You could say the brain is the CEO because it is responsible to gather data and make adjustments. How does it come to these decisions? Amazingly it uses what we call the teacher.

What is a teacher? It uses you past and reminds you what you have done before and you found works.

If you are under stress (not enough sleep, haven't ate the right food, mentally feeling down). It is the job of your brain to send you signals to correct whatever the problem is.

So, if you are having a suggestion that a cigarette would help you--what do you do? Tell you mind "NO, thats just an illustion. It doesn't help". I usually laugh at this point because I know these shilly thoughts are just like rainy days--eventually the sun comes out and the world is a better place.

Just remember to eat right, get plenty of rest, and if you are stressed out make sure you know how to reduce the stress (medition, deep breathing, focusing on your positives not your negatives, and count your blessings because you are on the road to freedom.

I know this attempt of an explaination of how it all works is very basic--but I hope it helps.

XOXO
