Learning to Meditate

Actually, i have been meditating for  a while but i am no pro at it yet.  I just got a new book on meditation that comes with a CD and i can't wait to get into it!

I figure if deep breathing works for stress from quitting smoking, then meditation would be the next step in finding peace of mind.  I am living proof that you can never be quit so long that you can't be tempted to go back to smoking tobacco.  Once, before this quit, i had been quit for 8 years and then my mental issues started and i thought smoking would be like medication - no, i was completely wrong!  It made things 100 times worse, SMH.

Needless to say, this quit, i intend to stop that kind of thinking right away.  I haven't had that thought since i quit this time, but i never want to think like that and start smoking again, thinking its going to "help" me cope with stress.

Prayer really helps and i know that meditation is in the psalms so i am gonna learn it and start practising it more.  I have been doing some meditation lately and it has really helped me quiet down and be in tune with God.  My relationship with God is the most important thing to me besides my Hubby.  And they are both very important reasons to stay quit, and stay free.

Love, Lisa
