Decided to do grocery shopping early this morning and then clean this afternoon. Having my sister and my 2 sons for Easter Dinner. Can't do ham (too much salt for sister) so going to do beef and pork roast as it makes the best gravy ever! Anyway, 1) make grocery list (check), 2) Go to Aldis to get what i can there (check) 3) get back on freeway and head for CUB to get rest of groceries (check). AND THEN....... hit some metal piece laying in middle of entrance ramp....blew back tire. So, there I was....stalled on side of freeway....who do I call?
Finally got ahold of towing company that agreed to come and fix flat on side of road (some won't). Waited 25 minutes and they call and said they can't find me. I give better directions and wait. A young man stops and says he will help and it will save me a bunch of money. But before I can calll and cancel towing they get there and said I would have to pay them anyway. So, I thank the nice man and tow guy fixes tire. Cost $65
With "donut spare" you can only drive 50 mph so I had to drive 6 miles on freeway with everyone else going 70mph. I'm now sitting at Tires Plus while they put on 2 ("need 2 to make it even") new tires. Total here $196.
When I'm done I have to go finish shopping.
Have to admit....thought as I stood along side of freeway "boy I could use a cigarette" and then remembered "I don't do that anymore". And smoking wouldn't have fixed my flat!
