Tough weekend but hanging in there

The last 2 days without the patch have me feeling like I did the first week of quitting. Weird part was the 2nd day with no patch was harder than the first. I spent yesterday climbing walls with very intense cravings. The excuse game even came into play. A few times I started listening to the nicotine demon telling me I could stop how bad I am feeling and it is inevitable anyways so why no just give up. I was dizzy and felt sick to my stomach on and off. Good thing I didn't have to work cuz I took crabby to an all new level. I can't believe how hungry I was. I ate almost everything in sight but the kitchen sink.

How can something have such a pull on me? I had a half hour where I actually considered going to the gas station. It was the first time I had a thought that I felt I could act on. I hadn't had one since I quit where I truly struggled like that so it was unexpected. A friend of mine gave me a kick in the right direction . I know NOPE is the only way for me to go. So I kept busy. I did some on-line shopping at Bath and Body. I saved 25% and got free shipping. (NO gas stations to go by shopping on the computer)  Then I made a pan of brownies and watched a few episodes of the Walking Dead (I think that show had some really long term heavy smokers on it) until all the really bad cravings had passed. I'm feeling better today and hope it isn't a repeat of yesterday. I've got enough scented soaps to last all year and if I eat the rest of the brownies up I'll be doing sit ups until next Christmas. I haven't left the house for 2 days and tomorrow I have to go to work. From everyone's information it sounds like the worst is the first few days for the withdrawal and it can take up to a few weeks to get it completely out of your system.  I am glad I'm not putting any more nicotine into it. For two days I haven't and I'm hoping today my system mellows out as I can't be a crazy lady when I go to work tomorrow.

I make my pledge for a SMOKE FREE SUNDAY!!! Hope you all have a super day!!
