No Man's Land...

Well it's been 65 days since I quit smoking!  I've officially entered No Man's Land.

The funny thing is you can hear about NML, you can read about it, you can learn about it, but there's nothing that fully prepares you for the actual experience of it!

Jeez...  I've been hit twice with out-of-the-blue cravings.  They just come out of thin air.  The first time, I was doing a bunch of stuff and things started to go wrong and I was frustrated and then BANG!  No Man's Land craving #1.  Last weekend, I was walking through the mall on my way to run an errand and BANG!  No Man's Land craving #2.

Naturally, I've done my reading and I check out the blogs and I read all of the info on Dale's blog so I knew what was happening and I didn't go off the rails and buy a pack of cigarettes.  I realized it was just a passing feeling or sensation and the only thing I had to do was be aware of it and then dismiss it.

In the end, a little mind over matter and deep breathing got me through it and I continued on with my day.

All I can say is, "Beware No Man's Land!"  It's real and it will get you if you let it.  Be strong, stay committed and most of all, stay quit!"
