Share your quitting journey
Reading and seeing all the new people with NY resolutions to quit smoking.
Just looked up and found out that 49% of people make resolutions. Stop smoking is #7 on the top 10 list. 8% will succedd in keeping their resolutions. That is any resolution.
I don't share this to discourage people NOT to make the resolution to quit smoking. I think it is the top thing we can do to be healthier and live longer.
BUT I do believe that if people say "I will resolve to quit smoking this year", set their date, put on the white knuckles and ...... nothing else---- they will likely fail.
Here is the thing. If you were to ask the people on this site who have 6 months, 12 months, 7 years......and beyond what has been the #1 thing to get them there......it is being informed, educated and committed to the quit!
For those that think that their quitting, the struggles and craves, the reasons they MIGHT not make it have it any worse than anyone else.......YOU ARE WRONG! We have all been through it, some WINNERS here have had more than their share of problems, struggles in every area of their lives. Click on the pictures of some of the Elders and Wise Ones here and you will find inspiration!
Inspiration + knowledge + support + COMMITTING TO THE QUIT = Success!
We all can do this. We just have to want it more than we want anything else in our life!
Stay strong.
I have 150 days of Freedom!
