Yes, I CAN be stressed and not smoke

(7 weeks and 5 days here)

Yesterday on my lunch break I was at home and I tried to replace my turn signal bulb and it was a giant pain in the butt. Nothing went like it should have. It took 30 minutes just to get it to work. So finally after lots of cussing and wanting to throw stuff I got it to work, went back in the house, got my stuff, and went to start my car...and it was dead.

Car problems have always historically caused me great worry because I depend on my car to get me back and forth to work and I definitely do not have the money (well, more accurately, I don't want to pay the money) to buy a new one right now, or to pay for major repair work. So in the past, car problems = extra cigarettes smoked.

But yesterday, as I was in the cab on the way to work, I realized that I was still stressed and worried and mad - but I hadn't really had the impulse to smoke a cigarette. Does this mean that my work to sever the "this or that = cigarette" mental connection has started to pay off? I hope so 🙂

Oh and I later jumped the car and it works so, WHEW.
