I came to this site because I wanted to quit smoking. What I learned here is that the way to get that done is to address my addiction to nicotine.
I have come to a difficult decision and am going to leave the site for a while (until I can clear the scorpions and feel more positive)! For those of you that know me, no worries! My recent health issues will get resolved without huge risk.
As for now, I go back to work on Monday and that involves a great deal of stress, 'biting my tongue' and constantly being very careful about what I say and how I say it! I can't do that 24 hours a day, so it's time again to retreat to my 3D friendships and support systems! These are the people that really know me and trust that my intelligence is still in tact even when emotions run high! They also know that it would never be my intent to ridicule anyone! These are people that I trust will come to me personally and let me know if I have upset them! That is where I can reduce my stress and protect my quit!!
I feel my quit is strong enough to survive without being here and I am finding that I don't have the stamina for the drama that often accompanies trying to 'pay it forward'! I am not a smoking cessation expert, I am just a person who has successfully gained control of my addiction to nicotine. Any blogs, comments or remarks that I make here are, of course, based on my own experiences! I don't know what else I could possibly base them on! I am happy to quote other's and often do but that is always in an attempt to support what I believe is important, which, is again based on my experience!
While I am sure that I would never have been able to quit without the support of this site, I don't find EXville a very pleasant place to live! I will touch base periodically and visit in PM's but I am done with blogs for a while! I will leave you with a couple thoughts/quotes to think about as you all move forward on your journey:
