Share your quitting journey
Good Morning to all in EX land, today is my day 800 of being smoke free. I quit on March 16, 2011 and haven't smoked one puff since then. There are others that have came and gone since I got here, either they no longer need the support found at EX or they have given up on quitting. I know of a few that lasted for awhile then decided to resume smoking. I know quitting is not easy but it doesn't have to make you miserable either. The most important thing is your "COMMITMENT TO QUIT". Once you learn about the powers of addicion(read, read, and read) you will understand you do not have to do this alone. You will not be able to quit using "will power", I tried that way to many times. Once I joined EX site and learned how nicotine addiction works, listened to the ELDERS and EXperts I was able to quit using my commitment of NO smoking for any reason. The support I received from others that have became very good friends(I won't try to name them but they know who they are) then quitting was simple. Stop buying cigarettes and lighting them,END OF SMOKING. Don't use the excuse "I just can't quit" because that is all it is an excuse to keep smoking. I quit and so can you.
My name is Betty and after smoking for 54 years I am now 800 days SMOKE FREE. It is the only way to be.
