I live in central CT. Sandy is being felt today with winds at around 40mph. They will increase hourly through the afternoon. Still have power and not too much rain on this side of the storm. Our side is the windy side. Gusts are predicted to get to 90mph this afternoon. Never appreciated my morning coffee or a nice hot shower as much as today. Schools are closed for at least 2 days. Gas was pretty much gone yesterday and stores ran out of lots of things. The big concern for our state now is the high tide coming up soon. Most of the shoreline was evacuated yesterday. I live inland so the concern for me is power outages which will probably happen. Tried to prepare for that but I will still miss many things. At least I don't have to stock up on cigs. So glad not to be a smoker. 259 days today.
